Multiple Levels of Ecocycle Planning

Panarchy

Panarchy is utilizing Ecocycle Planning on multiple levels. The framework supports deeper exploration and planning by mapping activities on different levels to show a more complex and connected system of activities (Diagram 2).

For example, during annual planning for the Outreach programs, ecocycle planning at a connected level may identify that anti-Indigenous activities are stuck at the scarcity trap. Further ecocycle planning at a connected level exploring GIPA/MEPA and Peer programs may then identify the need for creative destruction and renewal of Peer programming to create intentional space for more diverse Peers. These insights contribute back to the broader annual planning process for the Outreach programs. This ability to add levels and connections that allow for critical nuanced planning at multiple levels is a key rationale for its use with ASOs.
